Behavioural Health Coaching is structured, one-to-one support for young people when everyday functioning has become more difficult than it should be.
Who delivers it: Coaching is delivered by professionally trained coaches — selected for relatability and supervised weekly by registered mental health practitioners. Your child will work with someone who genuinely understands what they’re going through.
How it works: Coaches draw on cognitive behavioural techniques, positive psychology and habit formation — proven approaches that help young people recognise and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, regulate their emotions and build the practical skills to cope with what life throws at them. The focus is not on analysing the past, but on implementing change in the present.
Each coaching journey follows a structured framework — with clear goals, regular progress reviews and a plan that adapts as your child develops. You’ll always know what they’re working towards.
Sessions work on the things that actually affect daily life: managing stress, rebuilding routines, improving follow-through and handling pressure more effectively. Progress is practical and visible — your child will know what they’re working on and why.
What it isn’t: Coaching is not therapy. It doesn’t involve diagnosis, trauma processing or crisis intervention — and it can run alongside therapy or other services if your child is already receiving support.
Every young person is assessed before starting to ensure coaching is the right fit. If specialist care is needed instead, we’ll tell you and help you find it.
